Sailing Holidays for Parents with Children

A sailing holiday for parents and children, where you can find balance away from the city chaos, in contact with nature.

Where?

Elba Island and the Tuscan Archipelago

For whom?

Families and parents with children

When?

August and September

During this holiday you can experience sailing, relax and discover stunning landscapes, and if you wish, participate with your children in the many organised activities.

You relax, your kids have fun

Family holidays are organised so you can relax or choose to participate in the many activities planned for your children: excursions, sea-watching, trekking, environmental education, artistic activities and much more.

Life on board

Our Family Camps formula is also aimed at single parents with children. A week on a sailing yacht can be a wonderful experience to live with your children, having fun and spending together some of that time that work commitments unfortunately take away from us.

Frequently asked questions

When and where do we depart?
Boarding is on Saturday from 6pm onwards in Portoferraio (Elba Island). Reached from Piombino by first ferry, no booking needed. Disembarkation is the following Saturday at 9am.
Should I bring my car to the island?
No. It's not needed, it's expensive and requires booking. The boat is a few hundred metres from the ferry pier. In Piombino there's both supervised and free parking.
Can we board directly from the mainland instead of Elba?
Normally no. Boarding directly on Elba has many advantages: from the very first evening you already feel on holiday in a beautiful place. It can also happen that on the first day conditions aren't suitable for an open-sea crossing (especially with beginners on board), which would leave you stuck on the coast. Departing from Elba, even if conditions aren't optimal, we can still sail because the island is full of sheltered spots.
What are the extra costs?
Fuel, food and port mooring fees, shared among all participants via a common fund. Fuel usually amounts to a few dozen euros per person (€30-60). During windy weeks it can be even less. Food is self-managed by guests: you shop together (skipper and environmental guide meals included) and spend about the same as at home. Mooring fees depend on how often we enter port: apart from the first and last night, we often spend entire weeks without entering port. The cost can vary up to a maximum of €150 (in August) per night, always shared among everyone.
